You’re probably all sick of hearing how much I love Brabantia and I don’t blame you as I must sound like a broken record. But the thing is, it’s really hard not to love a company that has such a focus on creating great quality functional products that also look absolutely beautiful. There is just no need to compromise with Brabantia and that is what I like most. Since the launch of the ‘Designed for living’ range Brabantia has gone from strength to strength bringing out loads of great new products that have been designed to make our daily chores more pleasurable. Everytime that I get wind of a new product launch I get really excited to see just what they have come up with this time and I certainly wasn’t disappointed by their most recent launch for which Brabantia collaborates with Orla Kiely. Famous for her retro-inspired lifestyle collection, the Irish designer and ‘Queen of prints’ has teamed up with the interior design brand to give its bins a fresh new look.
The stem design that Kiely has become famous for now appears on Brabantia’s iconic Retro bin and is available in 12, 20 and 30 litre versions. My personal favourite is the charcoal on cream with a yellow lid but it also comes in cream on charcoal with an orange lid. Both of the colourways offer a really fresh look though and the pops of colour really do make a bold statement.
Brabantia are a company that I have admired for many years. Their products are of a high quality and very functional. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with them. We have added some fun to an object that we all use every day. I would be very happy to have one of the bins in my kitchen at home.

For the time being, the designs are exclusively available from John Lewis, both in store and online but as of April 2015 the new collection will also be available from leading retailers, independents and from the Brabantia website.
I absolutely love these new designs but I’d love to know what you guys think! If you love them as much as me you can buy them by hovering over the image below:
Have you got Orla Kiely kitchen bins in stock?
Hi Kate, I’m afraid I do not sell any of the products that I feature on my blog. However you will find links to the stockists in all the posts.
hey Stacey,
To your last question – I absolutely love these! I recently moved to a new flat and that cream&yellow one be the perfect choice. You can rarely see bins that can be part of the home decor and not ‘that ugly thing’. Last time I tried something like this the design on the bin rubbed off after only two times of cleaning but those look high quality indeed :)
