It may not feel like it just yet, especially after the snow flurries we have experienced recently, but I am told that spring is definitely on the way. With that in mind I just had to feature these gorgeous ceramics by Swedish designer Mia Blanche. Based in Södermalm in Stockholm, Mia creates these adorable pieces in her workshop and boutique, which she shares with two other ceramic artists.
Mia has been interested in ceramics for at least twenty years, but she only launched Mia Blanche Ceramic in 2008 after the birth of her fourth child. Prior to this she was working as a lawyer but gave it all up to pursue her goal of a more creative life and she hasn’t looked back since. Her work regularly graces the pages of magazines and she is now stocked in shops around Stockholm, NYC, Berlin and Tokyo and her reach is growing.
I not only love the delightful colours that Mia incorporates into her work but those delicate patterns really are something to behold. I’ve been looking for some new ceramics for my home for a while now and I think I’ll be hard pressed to top these. If spring ever does arrive they will be the perfect accompaniment to a spot of alfresco dining. Fingers crossed for a bit of sunshine soon!

Oh I love the delicate cups! So pretty.
I wish Spring would hurry up!
Me too Polly. I think the only thing for it is to crank up the heating, get some more lights on inside and decorate like spring!
I love these ceramics in pretty pastels. You can see it was made with much love and dedication. I would opt for blue as it’s fresh and also on trend in winter.
