Well, the wait is finally over! From more than 1700 submissions by students all over the world, the 8 lucky finalists in 2013 Electrolux Design Lab have now been announced and the judging panel’s selection is somewhat different to my prediction. So in the post I would like to show you the designs that made the cut. Electrolux has produced some great short videos that explain each of the concept designs in detail.
Atomium by Luiza Silva
Breathing Wall by Jeabyun Yeon
Kitchen Hub by Francisco Barboza Grasa
Nutrima by Janne Palovuori
Mab by Adrian Perez Zapata
Global Chef by Dawid Dawod
OZ-1 by Wei Kiat Law
All of these designs are available to see in more detail on the dedicated Electrolux Design Lab microsite. You can also vote for your favourite concept for the People’s Choice Award and tweet about it using the hashtag #FutureHome for a chance to win an exclusive restaurant experience.
The Jury will choose the winning concept on October 16 in Stockholm, Sweden. And as I mentioned in my previous post I will be there at the event and will report back on the outcome for you guys. Thanks to the generosity of Electrolux I am able to take one lucky reader with me to the finals. I received a great number of entries to the giveaway that I ran over the past couple of weeks and the lucky winner has now been chosen at random. Congratulations to Kasia E Slobodzian-Taylor who will be accompanying me out to Stockholm for the event.
