You may remember last month I featured a fantastic wallpaper collection called High Above designed by Dutch design studio Lilesadi for Photowall. Well this week I wanted to showcase Photowall’s latest design collaboration, which is with Swedish designer Maria Bergström. Graphic Ink wallpaper is a collection of five playful graphical designs in beautiful pastel shades. It features light hovering feathers, mountain landscapes formed by graphic triangles and ink confetti drops. The motifs used in the collection have been inspired by the meeting between chance and total control.
Maria Bergström originally trained as a textile designer and has previously worked with pattern collective Studio Rita and H&M. Her favourite design in her new collection for Photowall is the Confetti design.
“My Confetti design, with blobs of ink, is a great example of how simple, small details can be incredibly beautiful if they’re emphasised,” says Maria. “I find the design very playful, and it works well in children’s rooms and adult environments alike. I did sketches with ink in different forms, in liquid form and with pens; abstract patterns that were allowed to emerge. I endeavoured to preserve in my patterns the sense of chance that’s inherent in sketching, and to transfer it to the motifs in the collection.”
So which one of these delightful papers is your favourite and where would you use it? I think I would have to agree with Maria that Confetti is my favourite.
These are some really awesome wallpaper, especially the one with dots. These wallpapers are really inspiring and the inspiration is the first step in design process. Thank you for sharing some such awesome wallpaper.
Love the confetti design!
Yay, me too Sarah!
