Lust List : Home Gadgets

I’m not really a very techie sort of person. Sure I like having the odd gadget if it makes my life easier and more streamlined, but I’m certainly not one of these people who has to have the latest bit of tech to hit the market. In fact I’m quite the opposite, once I get to grips with a gadget I despise having to upgrade and it seems so much hassle having to get to know how to use the new equipment. My husband is the opposite though so we do have quite a few gadgets at home and if he had his way we’d have a great deal more. But one thing that puts me off is all the cables and how all the technology looks. If you’re not careful it can take over your home and become really overpowering. This got me to thinking that there must be some home gadgets out there that don’t look too techie or some accessories for your technology that help it blend more seamlessly into your home. Well after a spot of research, Ruth and I have compiled this Lust List of some of our favourite home gadgets and accessories that do just that.

Some of these products we chose because we love the way they look, like the Aether cone speaker and the Bang & Olufsen speakers and headphones. The copper adds a real touch of glamour and makes them seem far less masculine so that was a definite plus for us. Other products we chose because of how clever and unobtrusive they are, like the Nest learning thermostat and the IKEA wireless charging collection. The two products from Spell were selected as they are a great way to integrate your technology into your home in a seamless way and that is a real plus point in our book. We chose the Plumen lightbulb as it adds a really visual element to an otherwise unremarkable item and makes it a talking point. And finally we selected the curved monitor and TV from Samsung purely because we like the idea that it curves, although we have no idea what benefit this brings to the user experience.

Samsung have kindly offered to send us a curved monitor to test though so I guess we’ll soon find out if it deserves it’s place on this list. Keep your eyes peeled for a post in the coming weeks where we reveal how we got on and what we thought!
