I’ve recently been getting back into Twitter a lot more and I’ve been reminded just why it is my favourite of all the social media platforms out there. I find it so inspiring and also the best place for networking and discovering new brands. My recent design find thanks to Twitter is a really funky company called Candelle & Co. Founded in 2015 by Danielle Calder, Candelle & Co is a small family owned business located in Glasgow, Scotland. The company specialises in design-led luxury candles and don’t they look wonderful?.
Now, I’m not actually a big fan of candles as they tend to give me a bit of a headache when I burn them. It’s also really hard to find scented candles that I like the smell of. I’m often tempted to buy great looking luxury candles just to accessorize my home and not actually burn them, but the best looking candles often cost a fortune so I feel like it would be an overly extravagant purchase just for vanity’s sake. But I would, without a doubt, invest in these beauties from Candelle and Co.
I love the monochrome design and the gorgeous typography and I especially like the humour (*sorry dad, I expect a telling off later for featuring vulgar language on the blog!). I would have absolutely no problem buying these luxury candles just to look pretty. As I don’t actually own any yet I can’t comment on the smell but I’m hoping it will be something I could actually burn at home without feeling poorly.
The other interesting thing about these candles is that they have a wooden wick. I’ve never come across this before and I have to admit I had no idea what the reasoning was behind this or what difference it makes. But having looked online I believe wooden wicks create more of a crackle noise as they burn, so maybe it creates more of an open fire experience. Who knows, I’ll have to give it a try to find out.
Our Candles are Hand poured with the finest Soy Wax and Scents, We produce our Candles and design and print our own labels in a little studio in Glasgow. We take pride in knowing that is is all done by ourselves and makes it all worth while when the finished product is packaged and sent off to its new owner.

I’ve already chosen a couple of these candles as Christmas presents for various friends. I particularly like the copper tops that you can get to go with them, and I believe they also do gold and silver if you’re not a copper fan. You can also get personalised gift tins, gift boxes and advent calendars so Christmas shopping has just been made that little bit easier. I also really like these soy wax melts and little burners that they do. They look super stylish, as do those funky black matches you can see in that little bottle below.
What do you guys think? Are these not some of the most gorgeous and funky candles that you’ve come across? Perfect for Christmas right?
Ha. These are pretty cute. I’ve never heard of a wooden wick either!? Might have to try one of these, one with swearing on. Always prefer the word “bloody” though ;)
Love a good candle! Always on the look out for new brands
Glad to have been able to introduce you to a new brand!
Oh wow, these are so fun looking!! Now my six year old is a rather proficient reader, I’d have to be very careful which one I ordered ;)
Hahaha, I was thinking the same Rachel although my little girl can’t read yet. I totally want the one with the profanities but not sure how I’d explain that to her down the line! Not a very good mummy role model thing to have!
So much variety to pick from and I do love a good sweary brand haha Hope they smell as good as they look!
Me too. I’ll let you know when I get one. Need to choose which one first though and that’s tough!
Oh these are fabulous! I’ve seen them on Lust Living I think and thought they were gorgeous but didn’t know where they were from. I’d love to try a wood wick candle too and I adore the little messages, so brilliant!
They are brilliant, aren’t they? Yes I know Lust Living is a big fan too. I want to try the wooden wick.
Twitter’s still my fave too :) As are these fab candles – Fucking Fabulous and Slay All Day – amazing! Need these in my life xx
So pleased I’m not the only one who still loves Twitter. I thought everyone was mad for Instagram these days. I just love the conversations on Twitter with random strangers.
Very interesting read about Luxury Candles from Candelle. Thanks for posting!
