This blog accepts certain forms advertising. This includes paid insertions, sponsorship, product placements and affiliate earnings. I accept advertisements as a way of making sure I can fund the running of this blog and to help pay for improvements. Running a blog like The Design Sheppard is expensive and carrying advertisements helps me to cover my time, effort and the associated costs (hosting, domain, storage & back ups, social media management tools, travel, etc etc).

Affiliate Networks

I am a member of AWIN and Skimlinks. These affiliate networks allow me to make a small commission on all sales that are made via this blog. Some of the links on this blog are affiliate links and I always try to make this clear at the beginning of any post that may contain affiliate links. Where a post contains links that are a mixture of organic links and affiliate links, I try to indicate which links are affiliates by marking them with an asterisk. The shop page on this blog features products that I really like and that fit The Design Sheppard aesethetic. When you click on the products you are taken through to the retailer’s website. In some cases these are affiliate links and I will earn a commission if you go on to buy something from that retailer. However, I do not limit my product selection only to those companies on the affiliate network. I simply feature products that I love regardless of whether I can earn commission.

Transparency

At The Design Sheppard I believe in honesty of relationship, opinion and identity. I have worked hard to build the trust of my readers and I will always do my utmost to ensure that I never break that trust.

I am sometimes compensated to provide opinion on products, services, websites and various other topics. However, I never relinquish editorial control and always give my honest opinions, findings, beliefs, or experiences on those topics or products. The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely my own. I do not publish advertorials where the brand has full control of the content of the post.

I sometimes review products on The Design Sheppard. In this case, I will be gifted the product by the brand in return for my honest review. I never accept cash payments in return for a review as I do not see how it is possible to provide an unbiased review when money has changed hands. I only review products that I need or want for my own home and more often than not I approach the brand myself because I am genuinely interested in gaining a first hand experience of their product(s). If I do not like the product, I will return it and I will not review it on the blog. This is why you will never read a bad review.

Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.

In the interests of transparency, all content that comes about as a result of a commercial partnership will be clearly identified as paid or sponsored content both at the beginning and at the end of the post. I strictly adhere to the guidelines and regulations issued by The Commitee of Advertising Practice (CAP), and The Advertising Standards Agency (ASA)

I do not own the copyright to these images but I have been granted permission to feature them on this blog. I do not have the right to redistribute these images so please do not reproduce any of the images found on this blog without first gaining the express permission of the brands who own them.
