As the temperatures start to drop, how can you make your bedroom as cosy as possible so you can stay warm and sleep better in winter?

It can be difficult to sleep well during the winter if you are cold. Therefore, here is how to make your bedroom a cosy haven so you can sleep better during the winter.

Add Blackout Blinds

Adding blackout blinds is a great idea if you want to make your room darker and more cozy.

Roman Blinds offer privacy and the blackout effect, allowing you to feel relaxed in your space. Adding these to the bedroom is a great idea if you find yourself waking up to the morning sunrise at the weekends during your lay-in as they will block out the light and help you sleep better.

Add Candles

Candles are bound to make your bedroom feel cosier during the winter. They set the mood and heat the room up.

Anything meditative and calming will help you wind down, which is guaranteed to help you drift off into a peaceful sleep.

Just make sure that you avoid candles made from parafin and instead choose eco-conscious candles that are made from natural materials such as soy wax, coconut wax or bees wax to avoid exposing yourself to dangerous chemicals.

Use a Heated Blanket

A heated blanket is a great idea if you feel cold in bed throughout the winter. They should be turned on just before you get in bed as it will warm the bed up and make sure you feel cosy when you get in. Leaving it on for a while will ensure you can stay warm throughout the night, helping you stay asleep.

It is a wise idea to invest in a heated blanket that is energy-efficient as it will use less electricity, yet it will still keep you as warm as others.

Take a Hot Water Bottle to Bed

Having a hot water bottle in bed with you is a wise idea if the evening is very cold. Although a blanket will warm you up for a few hours, you might find yourself feeling cold during the night.

Having a hot water bottle under your duvet will stay warm and ensure you feel cosy. The warmer you are during your sleep, the longer you can stay asleep.

Change the Material of your Bedding

Another way to keep warm during the night throughout winter is to change your bed sheets to thicker materials. Brushed cotton and towel materials are better at maintaining the warmth, which will help you feel warmer and more comfortable during the night.

Likewise, add thicker pillows and blankets, as these will also help you feel cosier and warmer.

Add Layers

There is no use getting into bed with minimal clothing on as you will wake up in the middle of the night feeling cold.

The more layers you have on, the warmer you will stay. Therefore, layer up and check the temperature during the night so you can dress appropriately in bed.

It is important to stay warm and cosy during the cold winter nights. It will help you stay healthy and also enable you to sleep better.
