Well, it’s been a whirlwind couple of months and I’m afraid my regular blogging schedule went right out the window. As many of you know I normally try to post a fantastic wallpaper on a Wednesday for us all to salivate over, but for various reasons it’s been a while since my last Wallpaper Wednesday post.
So I thought I should rectify that this week and to be honest this post is well overdue as I first spotted this wallpaper back in November. Well, I say I spotted it, but actually it was brought to my attention by Leona of Chalk Decor who kindly emailed me to introduce herself and her small wallpaper company. I do love it when that happens and quite frankly it doesn’t happen often enough. But luckily Leona’s email caught my eye and I knew these papers would be perfect for a wallpaper Wednesday post.
Chalk Decor is a Lancashire-based company that produces affordable wallpaper for modern living. There are currently three papers to choose from. Loft Bookcase is a trompe l’oeil effect paper that is printed with an image of a bookcase that could be mistaken for the real thing from a distance and is great for those who don’t have space for an actual home library. Loft Brick is a second paper that features an image of a brick wall and I must say it is really rather convincing. The final paper is called Snapz and I think it is a really fun idea, particularly for a kids bedroom as it features images of small photo frames that can be used to display your pictures.
I’d love to know what you think about these papers. Would you ever use a trompe l’oeil faux effect paper in your home or would you prefer the real thing? And what about this photo frame paper? Let me know in comments.
This is really a trend. Have you seen my blogpost about trompe d’ euil wallpapers? Mine are different from yours but have the same effect: you have to look twice to ensure it’s not real. The brick wall is so realistic! Great choices.
We love the Loft Brick Wallpaper Stacey
Me too! It’s pretty realistic too when you see it close up. Very convincing!
These are FAB, I adore them, thanks for sharing, Stacey
The bottom picture wallpaper is brilliant! Would make a really fun single wall…definitely bookmarking this page.
I like it too Nat!! Would be so fun to fill the little frames with memorable photos! x
These wallpapers are great. The brick and bookcase paper look so real at first! The shadowing is wonderful. (Wunderbar!)
Totally Wunderbar Tina!! I agree! x
The Loft Brick wallpaper is fantastic Stacey. In fact I am in love with the image showing the Brick paper & Saarinen Womb Chair. The Snapz wallpaper works better for me as a contemporary design without the images pasted on there.
Thanks :-)
I’m not usually a fan of faux wallpapers but I quite like the first two as they’re clean and white. Not so keen on the photo wallpaper though – it looks too cartoony for me.
I think that’s why I like them too Polly. They’re quite clean and not too fussy! I wouldn’t have the photo wallpaper in a grown-up room though, but for a nursery or a kid’s bedroom it would work well!
