I’m not going to lie guys, I’ve had a pretty tough week here at Design Sheppard HQ. As you may know we’ve been doing some renovation work to create a utility room and I’ve been spending a bit of time in there painting. Well, this week the newly installed power kept tripping out. We had an electrician round to take a look though and it’s all fixed now. So we can forge ahead with the project and we’re getting the tiling done this week. Hurrah!
That’s not so bad, I hear you say. But then the washing machine died, shortly followed by the tumble dryer which now takes approximately 50 bajillion hours to dry a full load of washing. So basically, although the utility will soon be ready, I now have no appliances to go in it.
I was planning to buy a dishwasher to go in the space that the washing machine will leave in the kitchen, but no, I’ve had to postpone that as a washing machine really does take priority. Oh and I forgot to mention that the fridge freezer is starting to look like it won’t be around for much longer. This is going to be expensive!
The worst thing is we’re just about to go on our holibobs so doing the preparatory laundry has been a little difficult. Thank god for Mum and Dad is all I can say. Those guys rock!!
So anyway, after the depressing week I’ve had, I’ve decided that I need to do something to spread a little cheer. So it’s giveaway time!!! Haven’t done a giveaway in a little while but I know you are going to love this one. I’ve teamed up with AttikoArt to offer one lucky reader an abstract wall art print.
If you’ve not come across AttikoArt before you can read more about this mother daughter design duo here and check out the fabulous art print that is currently hanging in my bedroom here. Michelle and Melissa offer unique, affordable statement artwork that can be customised to fit any interior scheme. This makes choosing artwork for your home so much easier. I’m not going to go into too much detail in this post as you can read all about it in the post linked above.
But if you struggle choosing artwork for your own home and you’re a fan of abstract artwork, then I highly recommend Attiko Art. So let’s get on with the giveaway. You can enter below using the Gleam Widget. There are a number of entry options but as a minimum you must leave a comment to enter.
One lucky winner will be drawn at random and will be able to choose an abstract wall art print from the AttikoArt website up to the value of £250.
Good luck everyone!
Nice wall arts. These are more beautify the walls.
Gosh, what stunning artwork. Love that they’re a mother-daughter duo too! I missed the giveaway though sadly! I think the designs with splashes of pink are my favourite – but I am a sucker for a bit of pink!

Choosing which piece! There are so many beautiful pieces of art work its hard to settle on just one.
Getting my husband to agree!
Sorry to hear about your utility room and appliance troubles. You might want to consider getting a ceiling airer in yor new utility room. I’ve barely used my dryer since getting one. They are better for the environment, better for your wallet and better for your clothes (dryer fluff is broken fibres caused by the dryer motion, meaning your clothes don’t last as long).

Artwork that matches my own paintings is the hardest thing when choosing a new piece.
Where to hang it and how – definitely!

A piece of art that is able to attract attention without being overpowering. It has to harmonise with the deco but also be a key feature.

Oh lord coordinating colours…..I buy on impulse and from jumble sales, charity shops, etsy etc..and often the colours are quite wild when put together…I struggle to coordinate colours …my mum used to say my designer was Walt Disney cause of all the colours mixed together.😊.

these paintings are lovely!
I think the hardest thing about picking a piece of art for anywhere, your home, your body, anywhere, is whether you will still love it down the line. Generally, I think that if I fall in love with the look of something, I will always love the look of it, but humans aren’t like that are we? We get bored of things.
Finding a piece that all the family agree on
If I like it,then that’s enough for me.I just buy artwork I like.
