Stylish Stove Concept by Arthur Senant

Vulcan Stove by Arthur Senant

In ancient Roman mythology, Vulcan, the son of Jupiter and Juno, was the god of beneficial and hindering fire. So it is not difficult to see where this glorious stove concept got its name.

Arthur Senant is the French industrial designer behind this cleverly designed, space-saving stove that is ideal for small living spaces. Not only does it provide the heat and comfort we would expect from a stove but it also offers some much needed storage space due the extendable shelves that can be rearranged at will.

Sketch of the Vulcan Stove by Arthur Senant

One of the things I really love about the work of Arthur Senant is not so much the designs that he comes up with but with the sketches that he does during the design process.

I had the pleasure of interviewing him just after he had graduated from the Nantes-Atlantique School of Design and it was his sketches that really stood out for me then too. They really bring the designs alive. You can read the full interview here
