Alice in Wonderland Rugs from Rug Maker

Alice in Wonderland Rug from Rugmaker

Today I wanted to share with you the latest collection of rugs from Rug Maker. I have previously featured the Stamp Rug Collection by Rug Maker, so I’m already of fan of their products. This new collection has been created to celebrate 150 years since the first publication of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. I am a really big fan of Alice in Wonderland, so much so that my wedding reception was inspired by the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. So I was really excited to see these gorgeous Alice in Wonderland rugs, which I feel would be a particularly great addition to a child’s nursery. The quirky illustrated rugs would look equally good used as intended, to adorn the floor, or displayed on the wall as a statement piece of art.

Rug Maker was specifically chosen by the British Library and granted an exclusive license to reproduce the artwork by John Tenniel from the Library’s original collections. The monochrome designs for ‘The White Rabbit’ and ‘Alice, Drink Me’ rugs has been taken from the original first edition of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and pays close attention to detail, featuring the instantly recognisable ‘Drink Me’ bottle and pocket watch that appear throughout the timeless children’s book.

The rugs are skillfully handcrafted from 100% New Zealand wool and are hand woven in the Kathmandu valley in Nepal by highly skilled Tibetan and Nepalese weavers. And what’s more is that Rug Maker supports ‘GoodWeave’, a global non-profit organisation that assures child labour is not used in the manufacturing process of these rugs.

So what do you guys think about these rugs? And how would you use them? On the floor or on the wall?
