To be perfectly honest, I can’t even remember how I stumbled across the work of Swedish designer Lisa Bengtsson, but I’m really happy that I did. My wallpaper obsession is, by now, no secret to those of you who have become regular readers of my blog and I’m sure you’ll be able to see immediately why these designs by Bengtsson rate amongst my very favourite wallpapers.
Every time I look at these papers they make me chuckle. In her designs Bengtsson features dogs which she adorns with all manner of hairstyles, hats and accessories giving them a very believable human persona. From side sweeps to afros and berets to bowties, each and every dog takes on a character that is both humorous and endearing.
The collection of canine creations doesn’t stop as this delightful wallpaper collection though. Bengtsson has also designed a range of cushions and posters all featuring the same canine characters.
Unfortunately, Swedish is a language that I can’t speak so I haven’t been able to read and understand the website, apart from what came back when I pasted some of it into Google translate. So if any of you are lucky enough to understand Swedish and can enlighten me as to whether or not the information on the site contains any inkling as where the inspiration came from for these delightful designs, please do let me know won’t you?
