I decided that I absolutely had to do a blog post on this when one of my very favourite Tweeps, Igor Josif tweeted a link to the blog 23qm Stil featuring the stunning artwork by Swedish freelance art director Therese Sennerholt. Her work mostly centres around advertising, editorial, graphic design and corporate identity, but she has also started making graphic prints as a sideline. She uses old and new sayings and quotations, some she has found and some she has made up herself, and she uses them to make this wonderful collection of typographic prints.
I love the simplicity of this artwork. I think I’ve mentioned on here before that I have a tendency to get bored with things quite quickly so I try to avoid anything that is too fussy or too trendy when choosing what to surround myself with. The fact that these pictures are just black and white type therefore makes them very appealing to me as there is nothing really about them to go off.
But more than anything, what I really like about this artwork is the positivity of all the quotes and sayings that Sennerholt has used. They put a big smile on my face and I know that if I had these pictures in my home I would wake up happy every morning just from reading the inspirational text.
Of course the ones about love are very cute and would look great in the bedroom. But I think my favourite ones are those that relate to life in general and instill that sense of courage and bravery that we all need to go out and make the most of life, take those opportunities and be the very best that we can be.
